Wellingborough Amateur Boxing Club’s Josh Chani made a winning start to his amateur boxing career, securing victory in a closely contested debut against an opponent from neighbouring club Shirekings ABC.

Competing at a show hosted by Corby ABC, Josh stepped into the ring for his first competitive contest, putting his hard work and preparation at Wellingborough ABC to the test.

Facing a talented and determined opponent from Shirekings ABC, Josh was involved in an extremely competitive bout, with both boxers showing their ability throughout.

It was a genuine 50/50 contest that could have gone either way, but Josh did enough to secure the victory and begin his competitive boxing journey with a win.

For Josh, the result represents an important milestone and a reward for the commitment he has shown in training. More importantly, the experience of competing for the first time will be invaluable as he continues to develop as a boxer.

Coaches Charlie and Phil were in Josh’s corner, supporting him throughout the contest.
