Wellingborough Amateur Boxing Club’s Legacy Home Show was a night the club will not forget.
From start to finish, the show was full of respect, quality boxing, great support and proud moments for the whole WABC team.
The evening also carried a very special meaning, as the boxing community came together to honour Lee “Revs” Revell with the traditional 10 bells. The respect shown by everyone in attendance meant a great deal to Ray Revell and his family, and the club would like to sincerely thank the boxing fraternity for standing with us in that moment.
A packed night of boxing
The show featured 19 contests across the evening:
- 4 skills bouts
- 6 NAC Championship bouts
- 9 club bouts, including 5 WABC boxers
Despite a few late pull-outs, the show went ahead in true boxing fashion — and what a show it turned out to be.
WABC results
It was a brilliant night for the Wellingborough ABC boxers, with the team delivering a 100% win record.
Jae produced a strong skills performance and will now be moving towards competitive boxing.
Ashton claimed an impressive second-round stoppage.
Larae showed great composure after a late opponent change, winning by unanimous decision.
William made a dream debut, winning by stoppage.
Andrei came through a real war to take a split decision victory.
Aleks closed the show in style with a second-round stoppage.
Every boxer did the club proud, but as always at WABC, the focus now turns straight back to work.
Thank you
A huge thank you goes to Phil and Charlie for organising the show, the doctor for stepping in at short notice, all visiting clubs and boxers, and the East Midlands officials for supporting the evening.
Thank you as well to everyone who came out to support the club. Nights like this show exactly what Wellingborough Amateur Boxing Club is about — boxing, respect, community and legacy.
