For decades, Wellingborough Amateur Boxing Club (WABC) has stood as a pillar of strength, discipline, and opportunity in our community. What began as a small boys’ club in the 1980s has evolved into a thriving Community Interest Company (CIC), dedicated to transforming lives through the power of boxing. Our mission extends beyond the ropes; we provide a structured and supportive environment where individuals—regardless of age or background—can build confidence, resilience, and purpose.
WABC has a proud tradition of producing national-level boxing talent, with numerous semifinalists and medalists competing at prestigious championships. But we believe that success is measured not only by medals but also by the impact we make on people’s lives. Our club fosters character development, discipline, and self-belief—lessons that extend beyond the ring and into everyday life.
More than just a gym, WABC serves as a lifeline for young people, steering them away from crime and gang culture through structured mentorship and training. Our partnerships with local schools, businesses, and social services allow us to reach those who need us most, providing them with life skills, employability support, and mental health resources. Programs like Box Champions and Box Careers integrate boxing with personal and professional development, offering young people the tools they need for a brighter future.
Our doors are open to all. WABC offers a range of programs tailored to meet the needs of our diverse community, including:
YOUNG CHAMPS: Kids & Youth Boxing – Building confidence, discipline, and fitness from an early age.
FIGHT CAMP: Adult Boxing – A welcoming space for all fitness levels to train and challenge themselves.
BOX-HER: Women’s Boxing – An empowering, inclusive environment for women to build strength and self-belief.
Box Champions – Bringing non-contact boxing and mentoring into schools to promote well-being.
THE GRIND: Boxers only – this is for our competing boxers under the England Boxing banner.
WABC is at a pivotal moment of growth. Our vision is to expand our reach and facilities, ensuring we remain the go-to hub for youth engagement and community development in Wellingborough. Future plans include:
Securing a larger, dedicated space to accommodate our growing membership.
Enhancing outreach programs in schools and community groups.
Establishing stronger funding streams to sustain and grow our initiatives.
Creating career pathways through boxing, mentoring, and employability programs.
With passion, dedication, and a deep-rooted belief in the power of sport, Wellingborough ABC will continue to transform lives—one punch, one lesson, and one person at a time.
