William Huntley showed exactly what the Wellingborough ABC coaches see from him in the gym with another strong performance this weekend.
In only his second bout, William stepped in with an opponent who had around three times the experience, but he never looked out of place for a second. He boxed with real confidence, stayed composed, and showed plenty of quality throughout all three rounds.
There was a huge moment in the first round as William scored a knockdown, but full credit must go to his opponent, who got back up and continued to battle right until the final bell.
Both boxers gave a great account of themselves in a competitive and respectful bout, showing exactly what amateur boxing is about.
At the end of the contest, William took the unanimous decision, moving forward with another strong performance and valuable experience under his belt.
The coaching team are proud of the progress William is making every time he steps through the ropes, and this is another big step in his development.
